Twitter twits and timely Titanic tweets

It seems a whole generation did not realize that the sinking of the Titanic was a true story, and not just a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio. And in other news, you can view real-time tweets of the events as they happened in 1912.

Reddit, the social news-sharing web site is always on top of the news. And now the latest topic of conversation is a series of tweets from people who did not know the true story of the Titanic.
The RMS Titanic sank on April 15, 1912 after hitting an iceberg. This is considered to be one of the most deadly of peacetime maritime disasters in living history. The result was the death of 1,500 people.... read full article.

Facebook tries to calm users’ fears on CISPA support


In the wake of the news that Zuckerberg supports CISPA there has been much ado on Facebook. Now Facebook is trying to calm users' fears saying ‘We’ll protect your private data’.
Digital Journal recently reported that Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook was in support of the new controversial and draconian Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act or CISPA.
RT reports that now Facebook is defending its support for the draconian CISPA and has addressed users on the social media network to try and calm their fears in a message about CISPA.
While users are afraid of massive sharing of private user data with the government, Facebook has promised not to do it.... read full article and view video about CISPA.

Video: Singing plants of Damanhur eco-society


Damanhur, an eco-society based on ethical and spiritual values, has centers and activities in Italy, Europe, Japan and the United States. They are experimenting with plants and generating music from them.
Damanhur collaborates with international organizations engaged in the social, civic and spiritual development of the planet and has been awarded by an agency of the United Nations as a model for a sustainable future.
The Federation was founded in 1975 and has approximately 1,000 citizens and over 500 hectares of territory throughout Valchiusella and the the Alto Canavese area, at the foothills of the Piedmont Alps.
For 30 years, Damanhur has been experimenting with plants to find out if they are intelligent beings. They say that plants can pick up the emotions of people and react to these emotions.... read full article and watch video.

10,000 Egyptians rally in Cairo — ‘No leftovers from Mubarak!’


Thousands of Egyptians once against took over Tahrir Square yesterday in support of a law to put a 10-year ban on Mubarak supporting officials in office.
Coming just over a month before the Egyptian presidential poll, over 10,000 Egyptians filled Tahrir Square in central Cairo. The rally is being called "Protecting the Revolution" and is the first demonstration to happen in months.
The Islamist-dominated protest is largely aimed against Omar Suleiman. Suleiman was the former intelligence chief in President Mubarak's government and he has recently said that he intends to run for the Presidential seat.
AP quoted a protester saying: “If Omar Suleiman became president, it would turn to a pool of blood, and people would stay in the square for 10 years.” ... read full article and view video.
