London cabbies block central square in protest over Olympic lanes


In the latest bit of controversy relating to the London Olympics, taxi drivers have taken a stance against their exclusion from road lanes dedicated to Olympic traffic.
Hundreds of drivers of the famous London black cabs loudly hooted their horns as they jammed Parliament Square in London today.
The problem is that the cab drivers are not allowed into the special "Games lanes" which have been reserved for Olympic athletes and officials, which then makes their work that much harder... read more and watch video.

Israel to deport Ethiopian and south Sudanese immigrants


Israeli officials have begun arresting what is expected to be tens of thousands of legitimate African refugees, and deporting them to detention camps.
Israel has been a signatory of the 1951 International Refugee Convention since 1954.

150m Polat Tower skyscraper ablaze in Istanbul (video) Breaking News


In scenes reminiscent of the movie "The Towering Inferno", fire has broken out in the 42-story building in the center of Istanbul, Turkey.
Polat Tower is located Istanbul’s Fulya business district, which is made up of both residential apartments and offices.
So far, there are no reports of casualties. However, local media is reporting that there are people trapped inside the building... read more and watch video.

Video report: Occupy Bohemian Grove



Abby Martin interviews members of Occupy Bohemian Grove, where the most elite men meet in secrecy every year, to try and find out what is actually going on.
Digital Journal reported on July 15 that Occupy Bohemian Grove were in place to protest the secret meeting, and weird ceremonies, held by the elite each year in a secluded camp out in the redwoods of Monte Rio, CA.
While some think that the Bohemian Grove meeting each year is just a getaway and a bit of relaxation for the elite, protesters know different. Policy is discussed here, and major decisions are made.

TSA to assist with London airport security during Olympics


With the Olympic Games just a few days away, and last minute security staff problems occurring, the U.S. Transport Security Administration is going to step in to help.
Digital Journal reported on the last minute changes in security for the London Olympics 2012, when G4S admitted that they could not train and supply sufficient security staff. 3,500 British soldiers are being tasked with the job of keeping London safe during the Games.
