Review: Red Dog: True story of a dog who captured the hearts of a town

If this Australian movie is on DVD near you, it comes highly recommended, but have a big box of tissues nearby. You will need them!
While I am not a big fan of Australian movies, I gave Red Dog a chance, and am so glad that I did.
The movie is based on a true story of a Kelpie/cattle dog cross (sometimes called a Red Kelpie) who lived from 1971 until November 21, 1979. Red Dog was well known for his travels through the Pilbara region of Western Australia... read full review and view trailer.

Spain's Eurovision contestant asked politely not to win


Pastora Soler, Spain's contestant in the Eurovision Song Contest, has been advised not to win. The country can't afford to host the event next year.
ABC (Spanish language) reports that according to the rules of the contest, the winner hosts the next Eurovision contest, annually watched by 125 million viewers worldwide.
Pastora Soler, the Spanish contestant, has reportedly admitted that directors from the public broadcaster, RTVE, had jokingly implored her not to win.
Soler will be performing her ballad, Quédate Conmigo ("Stay with Me"), in the video above, in the Azeri capital Baku this Saturday.... read full article and view video of Pastora's song.

Live feed of Dragon docking at International Space Station

RT is offering a live feed as the SpaceX Dragon capsule docks at the International Space Station - the first privately-owned vehicle to deliver a load to the ISS.
Digital Journal reported on May 22, 2012 that the Falcon 9 rocket had successfully lifted off and that the Dragon capsule was well on its way to the International Space Station.

Study shows effects of maternal & fetal exposure to pesticides

A new scientific study now shows that the Bt-toxin, known as Cry1Ab toxin, kills human embryonic kidney cells. Combined with Monsanto's RoundUp, it can delay apoptosis, thus promoting cancer.
 
A new report is once again showing the dangerous effects of GMOs, pesticides and herbicides.Just over a year ago, the journal Reproductive Toxicology published the results of a study done in Quebec, Canada. The Study showed that Bt-toxin, a pesticide now routinely genetically engineered into GE corn and cotton, had been found in the blood of both pregnant women and also their fetuses, as well as women who are not pregnant. The study also discovered that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto's RoundUp, was also found in the blood of non-pregnant women... read full article.
