Between September 15 and 17, Occupy Wall Street celebrated its first year anniversary in several actions in lower Manhattan.

The three days covering the anniversary were broken up into a day of education, a day of celebration and a day of liberation.

London cabbies block central square in protest over Olympic lanes

In the latest bit of controversy relating to the London Olympics, taxi drivers have taken a stance against their exclusion from road lanes dedicated to Olympic traffic.

Hundreds of drivers of the famous London black cabs loudly hooted their horns as they jammed Parliament Square in London today.

The problem is that the cab drivers are not allowed into the special "Games lanes" which have been reserved for Olympic athletes and officials, which then makes their work that much harder... read more and watch video.

Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain 2012 (video)

So far, six people have been injured in this year's San Fermin festival - more commonly known as the Running of the Bulls. The festival started yesterday and runs until July 14.

Every year between July 7 and 14, pandemonium rules in Pamplona, Spain, as bulls run through the streets, and people run with them. This year the bulls belong to the Dolores Aguirre breeding ranch.

The San Fermin festival dates back to medieval times, but only became popular worldwide after Ernest Hemingway published his novel "The Sun Also Rises". Starting today 150 of the world's elite are meeting just outside Washington, DC. Will they decide who the next U.S. President will be?

Amsterdam, Netherlands: 12m flash mob in Dam Square (video)

Amsterdam did its part in the global 12m movement yesterday by holding a flash mob in Dam Square. Looks like fun was had by all.

The theme of the Flash Mob was to dance the world awake for global change.

In the spirit of peaceful revolution and to the extremely appropriate tune "One Tribe" by the Black Eyed Peas, Occupy Amsterdam danced in the streets.

Video: May Day marches in Germany explode into violence

The traditional May Day demonstration in Berlin turned violent as left wing protesters clashed with police. Arrests were made.

Around 15,000 people had set off late on Tuesday afternoon from Kreuzberg, a neighborhood of Berlin, heading for the city centre, but the demonstration was halted as left wing demonstrators clashed with the police.

Spain in trouble over unused Olympics ticket allocation

It seems that Spain cannot sell its generous allocation of Olympics tickets, and Brits are upset as they "should be first in line".

Spain has recently admitted that it is unable to sell the country's generous allocation of tickets for the Olympics in London later this year.

The Mail Online reports that the Spanish Olympic Committee initially offered the tickets through the Finac music and books store chain. However with the country in crisis and money short on supply, after several months only a handful have been sold.

While Christians celebrate Easter on the third day after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, to mark his resurrection, Eastern and Western Christianity use different calendars to base their calculations.

Eastern Europe uses the Julian calendar and Western Europe, the Gregorian calendar, which means that their Easter festivity days differ.

158th Boat Race halted by protester in the Thames

Oxford and Cambridge were going neck and neck until suddenly the Cambridge boat stopped. They had spotted the head of a person swimming in the Thames right near Oxford's oars.

The Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge is one of the most historic events in the UK each year, with Oxford and Cambridge battling it out on the River Thames.

On April 7, 2012, at around 2½ miles into the 4½-mile race course, and seen by thousands of spectators on the banks of the river in southwest London, the race was halted by John Garrett, the race umpire.

As the boats were racing along, with the teams neck and neck at just past the Chiswick Eyot, suddenly the Cambridge boat was halted as they saw the swimmer's head in the water.
