TEPCO now under Japan state control in 1 trillion yen bailout



The Japanese company that operated Fukushima received a trillion Yen ($12.8 billion) bailout today, effectively putting the company under government control.

Workers forced to fake radiation readings by Fukushima contractor


According to a leaked tape of an internal meeting, a company charged with decontaminating the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, forced workers to lower their radiation readings.
The workers were given lead boxes by a senior executive, which they were told to make into shields. They were told to place these over the dosimeters and, as lead effectively blocks radiation, significantly lower readings were produced... read more.

Japan restarts Oi nuclear plant despite mass protests


Despite massive protests in Tokyo, Japan's Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCO) has restarted the Oi nuclear power plant in Fukui prefecture. Seismologists warn of the dangers.

US Bluefin tuna record Fukushima radiation

Apparently Pacific Bluefin tuna in the U.S.A. is showing radioactive signals from Fukushima, but they say it is "safe to eat".
The BBC is reporting on a scientific study made on Bluefin tuna. It turns out that these fish travel huge distances (around 6,000kms) and end up off the coast of the U.S.A.
This is apparently the first time that a migrating fish has been shown to carry radioactivity over such a vast distance... read full article.
