6.2 magnitude quake hits far-western Xinjiang region of China


Following two earthquakes in Iran yesterday, it is now China's turn to be shook up.
As reported by the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), a 6.2 magnitude tremor hit today in far-western China. While there are no initial reports of casualties or damage, the depth of the tremor was 30 kilometers, which tends to increase the risk of harm.... read more.

Spanish fieldworkers union 'expropriates' food for the poor


On Tuesday, 200 members of the Andalusian fieldworkers' union, in a example of sheer civil disobedience, went to two supermarkets, filled up shopping carts, and left without paying. They then donated the food to the poor.
As austerity measures cut deeper into the lives of the Spanish people, drastic measures are being taken.
