Video: Zombie flash mob for public health in Málaga, Spain


In scenes similar to the TV series "The Walking Dead", zombies were seen dancing in the streets of Málaga on April 15, 2012, as the people protested against cuts in the social health system.
Digital Journal reported recently on a protest by the Málaga branch of the 15m indignado movement in Spain against recent austerity budget cuts to the public health system.
Now a video has been released showing the events of the day. To the tune of Michael Jackson's thriller, scary figures loomed and pranced in the streets.... view video

Video: NASA scientists capture spectacular solar eruption


The sun has been active yet again, with another spectacular flare occurring along the sun's eastern limb. Scientists captured it on video.
The dazzling solar flare sent an outburst of heated plasma far out into space and occurred on the sun's eastern limb according to NASA scientists and did not point towards earth. A solar flare is an intense burst of radiation which is created by the release of magnetic energy
While the eruption looks huge, it was not actually the strongest solar activity this year.
NASA scientists have categorized the flare as a class M flare, which on the scale of sun storms falls right in the middle.... read full article and view video.

Julian Assange 'The World Tomorrow' Episode 1 — Hassan Nasrallah


In the first episode of the controversial new series produced by Julian Assange of WikiLeaks fame, Assange interviews Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
In the long-anticipated first episode of the series "The World Tomorrow" being produced by Julian Assange on RT News, Julian Assange interviews the Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Nasrallah confirmed that this was his first interview in 6 years.
Nasrallah advises that Hezbollah had urged the Syrian opposition to engage in dialogue with Assad's regime, but that they had refused to do so.
In the interview, Nasrallah tells Assange that Hezbollah supports Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. He said that Syria supported resistance in Lebanon and “hasn't backed down in the face of Israeli and American pressure.” .... read full article and view video of episode 1.

Russian protesters to pay fines or sweep the streets


People participating in unlawful or unsanctioned protests in Russia may be forced to pay fines to cover any damages caused or will be subject to days of compulsory community service.
With other countries planning to impose heavy penalties, including jail time on protesters, Russia is taking a softer approach.
A group of MPs in United Russia are proposing the imposition of significantly higher fines for unlawful or unsanctioned rallies, or alternatively making the protesters perform compulsory community service, such as sweeping the streets.
The new bill proposes that organizers of street rallies should pay up to US$3,400 for such violations and individual participants in the protests would pay up to US$340. These amendments to the bill were submitted to State Duma yesterday.... read full article.

'Stop Cyber Spying Week' — counter-attack on CISPA


The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (or CISPA for short) is once again in the news, but this time a major counter-attack is being planned to fight it.
Digital Journal recently reported on the controversial new bill, CISPA and its threats to internet freedom.
Advocates fighting for an open internet are concerned about CISPA, which is currently being considered by Congress under the guise of addressing cybersecurity threats.
They have this week launched a counter-campaign against this draconian bill.  The opponents state that the government is attempting to once again restrict internet access to millions of Americans which could kill internet freedom of expression and information.... read full article and sign petitions.
