Fireworks mark the end of London 2012 Olympics (video)



The London 2012 Olympics closed on Sunday with an impressive firework display which beautifully lit up the sky above the city. Music filled the stadium and the Olympic flag was handed on to Rio de Janeiro.

Fireworks light the sky at Olympics 2012 opening ceremony (video)


A spectacular display of fireworks lit the sky over London last night as the London Summer Olympics officially opened, including the best-kept secret of the night, the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron.

Spectacular fireworks display plus protests in Hong Kong (video)


As Hong Kong celebrated the 15th anniversary of its return to China, a spectacular fireworks display was seen over the Victoria Harbor. On the same day, thousands of pro-democracy protesters gathered.

First public speech by Kim Jong-Un followed by rockets in the sky

North Korea's new supreme leader made his first televised speech today, followed by rockets flaring over Pyongyang tonight, but this time it was in celebration and not a failed rocket test.
On Sunday a massive military parade was held in central Pyongyang's Kim ll-Sung Square, as part of the climax of several events in the country to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kim ll-Sung, revered as North Korea's founding leader.
