Sunday travel ― 'Life's a beach' in Fuengirola, Spain
Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol is famous for its 5 km
stretch of sandy, well-kept beaches, running from the Sohail Castle all
the way through to Torreblanca.
Relatively
empty out of season but packed in summer, the beaches curve along the

Video: Zombie flash mob for public health in Málaga, Spain
In scenes similar to the TV series "The Walking Dead", zombies were seen dancing in the streets of Málaga on April 15, 2012, as the people protested against cuts in the social health system.
Digital Journal reported recently on a protest by the Málaga branch of the 15m indignado movement in Spain against recent austerity budget cuts to the public health system.Now a video has been released showing the events of the day. To the tune of Michael Jackson's thriller, scary figures loomed and pranced in the streets.... view video

Torremolinos has been popular since the late 50's and early 60's, especially amongst the rich and famous, including John Lennon and Frank Sinatra.
Tourists flock here every year for its wonderful sandy beaches, restaurants and famous nightlife. These days, it is more of a "package holiday" destination but still retains it's attraction.
Torremolinos is 12 kms from Malaga city and the international airport. The town has a railway station, where it is possible to catch the Renfe train which runs between Malaga city and Fuengirola, giving easy access to the other resorts in the area. There are also numerous buses, both local and long-distance, giving more transport options. Op-Ed: Ruling party PP's version of 'austerity' in Fuengirola, Spain
While Mariano Rajoy, PP leader and current prime minister of Spain imposes harsher and ever more draconian austerity measures on the people of Spain, here in Fuengirola the PP Mayoress spends money like water.
In ever more harsh austerity measures, the Spanish government is reducing pensions, cutting labor benefits, making it easier for employers to fire employees, degrading the social security and health systems.With 23% of the country out of work, nearly 50% of the youth unable to find jobs and shops and businesses closing down left, right and center, times are becoming increasingly hard for the Spanish people.The building boom is over and the entire country has become one big unfinished construction site, as the construction industry falters and cannot complete their projects.And yet, despite all this the mayoress of Fuengirola, Esperanza Oña, who is the local leader of the Partido Popular (PP), insists on spending millions of euros on brand new construction work, fancy signs and signposts in the seaside town.... read full article.
