Houston cop shoots double-amputee in wheelchair

In an incident outside of a group home in Houston, a police officer shot and killed a wheelchair bound, double-amputee after the man threatened his partner.

Unfortunately the object with which the man was threatening the officer's partner turned out to be a pen.

Oakland report: 'Overwhelming military-type response' criticized

A federal judge has issued an ultimatum to the city of Oakland, CA. Find a way to handle all the complaints against the police or start being sanctioned.

Many accusations of unnecessary brutal force have been filed against the police in Oakland, California, particularly in regard to the Occupy movement.

Now District Judge Thelton Henderson is demanding that police officials in the city must determine this week how to deal with the flood of accusations being filed with Oakland authorities. The judge specifically refers to the flood of complaints on how law enforcement handle themselves during raids on the local Occupy Wall Street protests.

Video: Austerity grows, police lash out at protesters in Spain

In a country where one in four citizens are now unemployed anger grows and with it, the brutality of the police against demonstrators.

Digital Journal recently reported that Spain has slipped back into recession. And now Spain has reached the highest level of unemployment in all of Europe, with 25% unable to find work.
