After the torrential rains caused massive flooding in the Krasnodar region of Russia, people are now trying to get their lives back together.

Digital Journal reported on the torrential rains, which caused flooding, landslides and mudslides in the southern resort region of Krasnodar.

Russia holds a day of mourning for flood victims on July 9

Russia has declared a day of mourning today for the 171 dead, and in honor of the more than 24,000 affected by the disaster. Questions are being raised as to the delays in warning residents of the coming deluge.

Digital Journal reported yesterday on the flooding in Russia's Krasnodar region, which has taken the lives of 171 people. Some 479 people, 48 children among them, have sought medical aid following the flood. Almost 3,000 people have been evacuated from the disaster area. 150 dead in Russia's floods — 6 months' rain in two days

Digital Journal reported yesterday on the floods in Russia, which at that stage had taken 87 lives.

Russia's almost tsunami-like floods have taken the lives of 150 people and devastated the area. The floods are the worst in nearly a century and the death toll continues to climb.

Officials calculated that up to 12,000 people have been affected by this disaster and a state of emergency has been declared in Gelendzhik, Krymsk and Novorossiysk.

So far, 139 bodies have been recovered in Krymsk, a further nine in Gelendzhik and two in Novorossiysk. Over 130 people are currently in hospital with injuries caused by the flooding, including 14 children.
