Multiple arrests at Occupy Wall Street gathering (video)


As OWS members gathered on Saturday, ready for Monday's anniversary march in Wall Street, police swooped in and arrested 25 protesters.
Monday, September 17 will mark the one-year anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Naturally, OWS members are getting ready to celebrate that anniversary on Monday, but the NYPD were apparently thinking otherwise... read more and watch videos.

New York Times photojournalist fights brutal NYPD arrest


Robert Stolarik was doing his job, covering the arrest of a 16-year-old girl in the Bronx, when the NYPD brutally assaulted and arrested him.
Stolarik is a credentialed photojournalist and is contracted to work for the New York Times. The 43-year-old photographer has been working for the Times for more than a decade, and is a former war correspondent.
Stolarik was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly obstructing government administration and violently resisting arrest.... read more.

NYPD will not provide defense for Police Officer Anthony Bologna


Police Officer Anthony Bologna of the NYPD was caught on video, pepper-spraying two female Occupy Wall Street members and now faces a civil lawsuit.
Bologna was seen on a YouTube video (above), spraying at least two girls, who had been kettled at the Occupy Protest on September 24, 2011. The girls fell to the ground, screaming and crying in pain, and Bologna purportedly turned and walked away.

Kidnap victim found in Queens garage of NYPD detective


A 25-year-old man has been kidnapped and held for $75,000 ransom in a Queens, New York garage belonging to a New York Police Department detective.
The man was found, bound with rope and zip ties, in a garage belonging to NYPD detective Ondre Johnson. Johnson claims he is not involved, but has been taken into custody and suspended from duty.
The 17-year veteran of the NYPD, a member of a Brooklyn gang investigation unit, is not in prison and is not currently facing any charges... read more.

'Terrorist cell' in New Brunswick turns out to be NYPD hideout


A building superintendent was just doing his job when he phoned the New Brunswick police department to report a suspected terrorist cell.
Salil Sheth was checking on what was supposed to be an empty apartment, in an apartment complex just off the Rutgers University campus.
The apartment had very little furniture, no clothing, but he found two beds, two computers, dozens of black plastic boxes, photos and Muslim literature on the solitary table, and also a couple of NYPD radios... read more and listen to 911 call.

NYPD caught out embellishing its anti-terrorism record


The New York Police Department has been boasting that it has foiled 14 terrorist attacks since 9/11. Only thing is, apparently this isn't true at all.
A study and journalistic investigation has been made into the NYPD's record by Justin Elliott from ProPublica.org.
During the investigation, it was found that there was only modest involvement in the thwarting of the 14 plots boasted by the NYPD, which are published on their website... read more.

An exclusive interview with retired Philadelphia police Captain Ray Lewis, supporter of the Occupy Wall Street movement. He explains why he may lose his union benefits for his beliefs for exercising his first amendment rights.
Captain Ray Lewis got out in the streets with the Occupy Wall Street movement and protested along side of them, in full police uniform.
